Latch-Type Driver
The Latch-Type Driver enables a surgeon to use any latch-type drill or instrument without the need for a handpiece or motor. In this way, implants can be placed without a motor, irrigation bag, or other typically necessary but cumbersome and expensive products. The Driver is thus ideal for placing implants in the areas of No. 3 through No. 14, where most surgeons’ single implants are located. The level of precision a surgeon can achieve with the Driver is nearly impossible to achieve with a motor-driven procedure.
Overall, the Driver is an extremely versatile instrument that can be used to solve many of a surgeon’s problems. At Surgeon’s Hands, we specifically use the Driver to receive a pilot drill, which can then be used to pierce extra dense cortical plates that the 1mm Osteotome cannot easily pierce. Additionally, we use the Driver to place the implant itself. However, the possibilities of the Driver are limited only by the number of latch-type instruments that exist.
Finally, the Driver is made in the USA and is cut from a single piece of the highest quality stainless steel; it has no moving parts. Its simple and solid design makes it virtually indestructible and extremely easy to sterilize.
USER TIP: Once a latch-type drill is properly and fully pressed into the Driver’s tip, the connection is rock solid. Thus, a pair of hemostats or a needle driver makes removal much easier. However, some surgeons are comfortable removing the drill with their fingers.
